Kids

Another class project... I designed logos for six of the play areas at the Denver Childrens Museum.
The areas were:

Arts a la Carte
Over my head & Under my feet
Fire Station #1
The Assembly Plant
My Market
Click Clack Train Track

I wanted the logos to copy the look and feel of the existing Museum logo.

Logos

I had to come up with logos for the made up words:

Skeksy
Skelsy

I went for the clean professional look because that is what I am liking these days.

As always your feedback is appreciated and will help to make me better...

Halloween

Yeah I know halloween was a while back, but I had a fun assignment in class where we had 2 hours to come up with symbol logos for the following fake brands.

Skeleton key locksmith
Black cat paint stripper
Witches brew pale ale
Cemetary park( for a real city park, not a haunted park)

This is what I came up with.

Business Card

I am going to try and stay on top of posting my current work...

I designed a business card for my Sister and just recently for Kelly's hair stylist.

Rebekah wanted a simple card that mentioned her salon, but focused on her. This was the final design I came up with. The cool news is that after seeing this card design, the owner of the salon is paying me to maker her a card.

This are the two top designs I came up with for Kelly's hair stylist. I had never actually talked with her, but I was told she wanted something modern and did not have a logo for her new salon yet, so this is some of what I came up with. She ended up going with the card with the big K.

Let me know what you think, your feedback will only make me a better designer.

Ra Ra Riot

Hello, it has been a few months... I have been busy with school, work, etc... but have been listening to a bit of music and need to share more with you.

Ra Ra Riot is the band of this week for me, mainly because they are awesome and will be playing in Denver next Tue for only $10 which is a deal out here.

I posted a song in the player called "Dying is Fine" I like the mellow yet energetic (is that possible) sound that this band has. See them if they come to your area and if not just head to your locally owned record label and buy either their EP or new album.

Take care, hope to post more... even if it is just music.

School

I just finished my first quarter finals... They went really well and I though I would share six images that I used for one of my projects. I basically had to come up with six different works of art that portrayed six different emotions. There were no real guidelines, we could paint, draw, use mixed media, computers etc... Below is what I came up with.

You can click the images to make view them a little bigger... Enjoy.

Page France

Life has been crazy...

School, work, wife, dog, climbing and not much time for catching up on the blog.

I just put a new song in my player. It is by Page France.

The band started as a solo act for Michael Nau and as far as I know he does all of the writing for his "band" which consists of friends and other sweet musicians. Sort of a David Bazan/ Pedro the Lion deal.

The song I posted is called Chariot. I really like this song... It is probably his most popular song but is so good I had to post it. The lyrics are great, vocals simple but powerful and as always just enough melody to rock out with.

Hope you like it... I really do and can probably post more later.
